Allergen Disclaimer

At Kitts Kitchen Ltd (Trading as This Is Kitts), we take food safety and allergens seriously.

 

We aim to provide clear information and handle all dietary requirements with care, but we work in a kitchen that uses all major allergens. Because of this, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.

 

Please read the following carefully before booking.

1. Allergen Awareness

Our kitchen handles ingredients containing:

  • Gluten

  • Milk

  • Eggs

  • Fish

  • Shellfish

  • Soya

  • Nuts

  • Peanuts

  • Celery

  • Mustard

  • Sesame

  • Sulphites

 

Cross-contamination risk can never be fully eliminated.

2. Client Responsibility

Clients must inform us of:

  • All food allergies

  • Dietary requirements

  • Religious restrictions

  • Intolerances

  • Severe or life-threatening allergies

 

This information must be provided at booking stage, and no later than 7 days before the event.

We cannot make last-minute allergen adjustments on the day of the event.

3. Menu Adjustments

Where possible, we can adapt menus for:

  • Vegetarian

  • Vegan

  • Gluten-free

  • Dairy-free

  • Halal

  • Mild allergies and intolerances

 

However, substitutions depend on availability and may incur additional charges.

 

For severe allergies (e.g., anaphylaxis), we may require:

  • A separate meal

  • A simplified dish

  • A signed disclaimer

  • Or in some cases, we may decline due to safety concerns

 

Your wellbeing is our priority.

4. Buffet & Shared Service Disclaimer

For buffets, grazing tables or communal serving:

  • Cross-contact between dishes is possible

  • Guests serve themselves, increasing allergen risk

  • We cannot control how guests handle utensils or plates

 

For severe allergies, we recommend a separate plated meal.

5. Labelling & Allergen Menus

  • We can provide:

  • Allergen menus

  • Dish labels

  • Staff guidance during service

 

However, these must be requested before the event.

6. After Delivery

Once food is delivered or handed over:

  • The client assumes all responsibility for safe handling

  • We cannot guarantee temperature control or contamination prevention after handover

  • Leftovers must be stored or discarded safely

 

We accept no liability for food consumed beyond recommended timeframes.

7. Liability

While we take every reasonable step to manage allergens safely, we:

  • Cannot guarantee allergen-free food

  • Cannot guarantee zero cross-contamination

  • Cannot be held responsible for reactions if allergens were not disclosed

  • Are not liable for food shared, reused or transported by the client post-event

8. Agreement

By booking our services, you acknowledge and accept this Allergen Disclaimer.
